Spotted Sandpiper (Actitis macularius)
The theme of this song comes from the call of this bird, but could also represent its distinctive flight style as referenced in the title. Less tied to coastal habitats than most other sandpipers, this species is also common around rivers and lakes. The female spotted sandpiper is larger and more spotted than the male; he takes care of the eggs and chicks by himself while she moves on to start a new family.

Lehman's most emotional and most beautiful album to date. This album manages to be complex and extremely interesting to listen to while also feeling like a strong expression of emotion. Lehman's trio is incredible as usual, and they synergize perfectly with Craig Taborn. rat

This music has everything I need: acoustic instruments, a slow build, layers of atypical harmonies and rhythms being added each pass through, subtle melodies and combinations. Excellent work! Little James
